You
are the one who sits above,
God called David a “A man after my own heart”. What did he mean? He meant that David had God-like qualities that God admired. It meant that David was a blessing to God in many ways. But, what was it about David that God loved the most? It was the ways that David expressed his love for God. David wrote songs about his deepest feelings for God. Not only did he write songs, but he also sang the songs to God. He even danced while he was singing, expressing his joy in The Lord. He wrote poems about The Lord. He wrote sonnets about The Lord. He wrote these things for God, which showed a physical effort to go along with his words. Then he sang or spoke these words, which showed another physical effort. This indicated a true love for God, as words without action are merely empty words. How many of us Love God in thought only? How many of us think that that is enough for God? We need to not only love God in thought, but we all need to show our love for him every single day. The very simplest way to show him is to verbally say; “I love You, Lord” every time we think about him. But,
if you really want to win his heart, sit down and write a poem about
him. Just start rhyming words,
describing His goodness and your love for Him. It doesn’t take any literary talent to do it. God is not a critic of your poetry. He just loves to hear anything you can come
up with.
