In Romans 12:1-2, Paul makes the following plea regarding transforming
our lives:

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

As you consider this text, several questions come to mind...

What does it mean to be transformed?

Transformation is a process in which the believer advances from a carnal state, to a spiritual state. It is a transformation that is not based on knowledge, but is based on a daily relationship and the condition of the soul. The soul is the metaphorical heart, and it is what is in your heart that makes you spiritual. When a believer has been transformed, his spiritual ears have been opened and he is now sharing the nature of Jesus. Everything about him is about God. He is sharing God’s desires and priorities. He is walking in love and living a life of kindness to all people.

What is the goal of transformation?

The goals of transformation are: 1. Becoming the way God wants all of us to be. 2. Walking in “The Light”. That is showing all around you the nature of Jesus. 3. Reaching a place where all of the blessings God has for you become available to you.

What should motivate us to undergo transformation?

Transforming to a spiritual state will bring peace and joy to our lives. It will bring health, financial and spiritual prosperity to our lives. But most of all, it will bless God, and he will be proud of us. It will make us acceptable to him.

What does one do in order to experience transformation?

Spiritual transformation is all about changing priorities and cleansing the soul. In order to start, all issues of anger and unforgiveness must be addressed and eliminated. These two issues will block spiritual transformation. Then there must be a spiritual commitment to being a blessing to God and all mankind at all times. Kindness is a tonic that will feed your soul, and it will become addictive. As you experience the joy and euphoria of serving others, you soul will cry out for more. This is what will change your life and core attitude. We were put here to serve each other and allowing that purpose to grow and blossom will turn you into a joy-filled child of God. That is transformation. Here is a prayer you can say, feel and live that will help you achieve spiritual growth in God – transformation:
